Home Street Window

While I was living in Montreal, I made a series of paintings based on fire photographs I had taken out at my cabin. During that series, I made this painting. Interestly enough, the composition really felt the same in that there was a large dark area with a bright section in the middle. The other similarity was in the fact that all of these paintings where of images that I could stare at for an extended period of time, often reminessing about a moment or place. I found that these paintings were concerned with staring, and thinking. I think I may expand on this painting with some other windows of the places that I lived, it always brings fond memories. Okay, enough babbling!

It reminds me of the panel project, and Patrick Caufield. The contrast, and window, create a psychological space. Next step, reflections!
