The Last Ice Flow

So this painting is a commission. I had done a painting for someone of a group of penguins and the same person asked me to do one of polar bears. I knew that polar bears didn't really cluster the same way, not unless there was a shortage of iceflows. This painting continues to be a struggle, although I feel I have recently made a turn, which seems to be reminiscent of an older style of painting of mine. I dunno. It's interesting to see the changes.

Great concept. I like the fact that you chose not to make a typical nature painting of polar bears, like you'd see in some mall kiosk at Christmas. This says something about the time we - and the polar bears - live in.

The water looks gorgeous already. I look forward to the painting's next turn.

Oops. Glaciers don't float. You might want to call this "the last ice" or something. Flat ice floating on the water (especially near polar bear habitat is "sea ice" or "pack ice").
