When, in the early 20th century, painters like Braque and Picasso declared that photography had freed them from "form", I wonder if they could have foreseen a 100 years later a Photoshop plugin that would "free" them from non-representational forms as well? What gave abstract/NR painting it traction was that it went somewhere that the camera couldn't. So what now? ~m

Now the world is a post modern playground and you can do anything.

There were human made non representational, pattern and abstract images since cavemen. All too often we forget there was always more going on than what was in the 'mainstream', or that we see in European or Western Art history books.
